Besides yours, who do you think deserves "The Best Mother in the World" award?

I think that I am one of the few lucky people who were pampered by one or two of their grandparents. I didn't learn how to cook at an early age because lola did the cooking for us. I didn't do laundry until I was in fourth year high school because she did it for us. But this doesn't make her "The Best Mother in the World".
She is the best because she was able to raise her own children amidst adversities of life. She never had a regular source of income. During harvest times she'll work for the owners of rice fields and there she gets her pay. She work an extra mile by making kakanin to sell to our neighbors. And she never got tired of it. She was even able to extend financial help to her nephews and nieces. One of her nephews came by to our house one day and he cried to my lola. He said, "I will never forget that day when Auntie gave me 20 pesos just to be able to ride that bus going to Manila. That 20 bucks sent me to where I am and my family today." But at that time, lola can no longer recognize him. Hearing those remarks from the people she helped just revealed to me one thing - the best legacy we can leave on earth is beyond material - it's how we loved, touched and blessed other people's lives.
This was taken during our visit to the National Orchid Garden of Singapore. I just love the place! We actually had to see the place by foot. Was so tired, and it so happen that it was very humid that day. The photo says it all...
...as I can only regularly bond with my kid bro. My sister and her hubby are usually busy either with work or with their church activities. And so I tried so hard to convince them to go out during the CNY vacation. My Kuya Rey said "yes" but the sister was hesitant because they needed to wake up early the following day for their church activity...again. Soon enough, she agreed and off we go.
Can say that this is one of the happy times I have here in SG! Hope to have another dose of it next time around...
